I am Hannah, a trauma therapist.

The past does not have to keep interrupting the present

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other trauma-focused approaches to help you move through what happened, not just talk around it. In person in Livonia, or online across Michigan and Illinois.

How we work together

  1. The consult

A short call to hear what brings you in, answer your questions, and see whether we are a good fit.

  2. Assessment and preparation

We map your history and goals, build coping skills you can use between sessions, and make sure you have solid footing before any reprocessing.

  3. Reprocessing

We work through targeted memories using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), at a pace you control, one weekly session at a time.

  4. Integration

We check what has shifted, strengthen what you want to carry forward, and prepare you for the situations you have been avoiding.

About Hannah

Safety comes before anything else

I earned my Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan and have spent the last five years working with people carrying things they never got to put down. Trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, hard transitions, and the exhaustion of moving through a world that was not built for how your brain works.

What I learned early is that people do not open up because a therapist is credentialed. They open up when the room feels safe. So I am intentional about building that first, every time, whether the person across from me is a child, a teenager, or an adult who has already tried therapy and left disappointed. I am licensed in Michigan and Illinois, and see clients in person in Livonia and online in both states.

Before we begin

The things most people want to know before reaching out.

Ask something else

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a structured, evidence-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, taps, or tones, while you briefly hold a distressing memory in mind. The memory stays. What changes is the charge it carries. You do not have to describe every detail out loud for it to work.

Who do you work with?

Individuals from age 6 through adulthood dealing with trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, and neurodivergence, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism. Faith-based work is available if you want it, and never assumed.

Do we meet online or in person?

Either. In-person sessions are at TheraSuites, 31560 Schoolcraft Rd in Livonia. Online sessions, by secure video, are available across Michigan and Illinois, where I am licensed.

What about cost and insurance?

Each service's page lists its fee. I am in network with Aetna, Blue Care Network, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Cross Complete, Cigna, Meritain Health, Priority Health, United Medical Resources (UMR), and UnitedHealthcare, with Medicare coming soon, and I also see clients out of network. Refuge Counseling Center offers a sliding scale, so if cost is the thing holding you back, say so on the consult call.

Will Ada be there?

Often, yes. Ada is my therapy dog and joins many sessions. If animals are not your thing, that is completely fine and we will work without her.

Do I have to be religious?

No. Christian-centered therapy is one option for people who want their faith in the room. Every other service is the same work without it, and nothing is assumed.

Who are the groups for?

Adults working through anxiety, trauma and life transitions, and kids, pre-teens and teens working on social skills, in groups split by age.

What if I am not sure therapy is right for me?

That is a normal place to start. Reach out and we will talk it through with no pressure to book anything.
